THE EVOLUTION OF THE POCKET COIL MATTRESS
Another year has come and Simmons is again introducing new and innovative sleep products to the bedding world to give consumers even more selections when deciding on a new bed for your home.
In the past decade mattresses have made more changes than ever before in the history of the product and all to improve our sleep and comfort while in bed. Let me speak about some of the things Simmons has led the industry with. Our famous Beautyrest pocket coil mattress developed over 80 years ago has, and continues to be the best coil product in the industry to give you a better a precise support system to ensure the ultimate in support. This pocket coil system provides less motion transfer in the mattress than anything else in the bedding industry.
Five years ago, Simmons broadened the base of this pocket coil, sat it on a block of high-density foam to reduce motion transfer even more (by about 15%) and were the first company ever to introduce the non-flip mattress. Today, we do not make a mattress that has to be flipped periodically.
Three years ago, we started to use plusher products in the tops of our mattresses to give different levels of comfort. Products such as latex foam, memory foam, wool, silk, cashmere and others so we could build a mattress that would supply the exact level of firmness and comfort that the consumer may be looking for.
Last year, Simmons again led the industry by introducing Beautyrest Black, the very first cable coil mattress, which is our famous pocket coil spring braided with 3 different coils together to give the ultimate in support and comfort. This new pocket coil provides even less motion transfer in a mattress than ever before. This new product has been a huge hit with our customers and today represents about 30% of the Beautyrest sales in our store.
So you may be asking...What's new for 2009? Well...NxG is the latest new product to hit the market place and yes, by Simmons of course! What is NxG...NxG stands for Next Generation Memory Foam and this memory foam is like no other on the market. NxG memory foam is made from an open cell process that reduces the heat issue that some people experience with other foam mattresses. This memory foam is also faster reacting than the other memory foams on the market and it also eliminates foam odors that so many memory foams are infamous for. NxG memory foam contours to your body better than anything else so it gives you a more even level of support.
Simmons has taken this NxG memory foam and placed it on top of our famous Beautyrest Evolution pocket coils to give you the ultimate in support and firmness as well as the luxury of a memory foam top covered with a new stretchy fabric. This new fabric eliminates the quilting and large bumps on the top of the bed. This top is called an "Even Loft Top" and gives you a smooth silky feel on the surface of the bed.
These new NxG beds are available in 4 different levels of comfort and we carry them all in our store. These beds are a "must try" when you visit us!! This is yet again another exciting product introduction by Simmons to ensure you a good night's sleep.
